There’s a mini-golf tournament beginning at 10 a.m. at Gator Golf. It’s also one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for local non-profit, Single Parent Scholarship fund. Here’s a link with more info about the event.

There’s also a bacon festival in town. It’s called Bacon Bowl, put on by the folks that did the NWA Cheese Dip Classic a few years ago. It starts at 11 a.m. at the NWA Mall, and there are bacon cooking contests, eating competitions, and other bacon-related activities planned. Here’s more.

Theatrewise, the kids from Trike Theatre will be performing their version of Peter Pan at Walton Arts Center this weekend. There are several chances to see the show.

Tunes-wise, there’s a good show at the Fayetteville Underground with Olympia, WA singer/songwriter Ashley Eriksson (who is also fronts the band Lake), and local band SW/MM/NG. Locals Don’t Stop Please will celebrate the release of their long-awaited full length album at George’s Majestic Loungewith the Flipoff Pirates and The Ronald Rayguns.

If you want to get into the Halloween spirit a little early, the annual Beat Bachs Halloween Dance Party is Saturday night at Fix Ultra Lounge on Dickson Street. Expect DJ sets by some of the top DJ’s in Fayetteville and complimentary cocktails for those who show up before 11:30 p.m.

Also Halloween related, Smoke & Barrel Tavern is doing their annual “Bands as Bands” Halloween Show Saturday night, with Family History and Teenagers playing Nirvana songs as one band. It’s a free show too. If the Nirvana cover Family History played at Block Street Block Party is any indication, it should be freaking awesome.
