AD: The latest Flyer Homes listing is the shiniest apple in the orchard

Some apples are better made into a pie topped with a golden brown lattice crust or brown sugar crumble. Others are best served covered in salted caramel and served on a stick, while some are most suited to pureeing into sweet apple sauce sprinkled with just a dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, or pork chop.

But some apples stay on the tree just long enough, ripen in the sun to the point of perfection, hide amongst the leaves protected from the occasional black-capped chickadee or very hungry caterpillar, until they become the shiniest, most irresistible apples in the orchard. Our latest listing is one of those. You’ll want to pluck it from the tree and just go to town on it.

Yes, doing an apple metaphor about a house in a subdivision called Apple Orchard with all apple-related street names is kind of on the nose, but sometimes it just makes sense to grab for the low hanging fruit. Dammit! Just did it again. Sorry, let’s continue …

The current owners bought this home back in 2012 and have been shining it against the front of their shirts ever since. Along the way they have replaced interior and exterior lighting and hardware, the carpet, the engineered wood flooring and the blinds. And the interior has just been repainted from floor to ceiling in every room.

The kitchen has been spruced up as well, with freshly finished cabinets and new hardware, a new sink and faucet, a new dishwasher and the stove and microwave are only four years old.

At its core, the home has a smart split floor plan with a cozy gas log fireplace in the family room and an open, airy layout in the main living area. Outside is a built-to-last, brick and vinyl exterior and some recently added landscaping and privacy fencing, all located in a popular but affordable neighborhood surrounded by schools, supermarkets, restaurants and more.

You could say there is not a single worm in this apple. Of course, nor would there be. What people commonly refer to as “worms” are really some type of insect larvae, like caterpillar, grub or apple maggot. Anyway, as I was saying, there is not one apple maggot to be found in this apple. The very definition of “out with the old and in with the new”, most every surface in the house has been replaced, from the new floors to the new 30-year architectural shingles, for 100% larvae-free results!

If the mere thought of apples or apple-based products turns your stomach, there is a chance this house and neighborhood may not be for you. But for the rest of you normal folks, have a look at the photos below. Then call Jay Downing at 479-601-5453 to set up a showing.
