City to host blood drive in honor of fallen officer Carr Wednesday

FAYETTEVILLE — A blood drive in honor of officer Stephen Carr will take place this week.

The city of Fayetteville has partnered with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks for the event, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at the Fayetteville Town Center.

Carr was 27 years old when he was killed on Dec. 7, 2019 after being shot behind the police station in downtown Fayetteville. He was ambushed by a gunman who shot him 10 times in the head while he was sitting in his patrol vehicle.

The drive will take place on April 13 in honor of Carr’s badge number, 413.

Donors who participate in the drive will receive a free t-shirt.

Appointments are strongly encouraged to manage donor flow at the blood drive. Appointments can be made online at donate.CBCO.org or by calling Bonnie Bolinger at 479-575-8333 or [email protected].
