After several years in the making, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is ready to open in Fayetteville.

The Louisiana-based restaurant and sports bar chain will open at 1199 N. Shiloh Drive on Tuesday, Sept. 6, officials said. The new 7,800-square-foot restaurant is just north of Wedington Drive off the Interstate 49 exit.

The grand opening begins at 10:30 a.m., and the first 100 guests in line will have a chance to win free Walk-On’s for a year or a New Orleans Saints jersey signed by Brees, according to a news release. The winners will be selected at random and announced on opening day.

Walk-On’s first announced plans to expand to Northwest Arkansas in fall 2017. The company eventually opened its first location in Rogers in March 2020, and plans for a Fayetteville restaurant surfaced a little over a year later. The brand has two other locations in Arkansas, including Conway and Fort Smith.

The restaurant concept was created by former LSU walk-on basketball players Brandon Landry and Jack Warner. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has since bought in as an owner of the chain. The menu focuses on sports bar fair with a Cajun flavor, with popular items including their Boom Boom Shrimp, Catfish Atchafalaya, Ribeye Poboy, and Zydeco Salad.

The Fayetteville restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
