You see that red glow emanating from campus, illuminating the sky and reflecting in the clouds all over the city? It can only mean one thing. It’s game weekend!
The Razorback football team takes on Cincinnati in a top-25 showdown to kick off their season on Saturday. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN, but the tailgating starts much earlier, though. Truth be told, it may already be underway.
How about some music to get yourself tuned up? There’s a 90s country tribute called Gone Country kicking things off at George’s for Happy Hour on Friday night. Later on, local bluegrass bands Arkansauce, Country Jesus, and Eureka Strings will take George’s stage on Friday night. On Saturday night, local cover band Gin & Juice and DJ Raquel will play what will hopefully be a full-on Razorback victory celebration. Ticket info for George’s is here.
Also in tunes, there’s a big rock show at JJ’s Live with Black Label Society, along with Jared James Nichols and The Native Howl. Here’s ticket info.
You can also check out local favorites, The Odds on Friday night at Mojo’s East.
Up north, there’s a big hip-hop show at Railyard Park Friday night with Arkansas rappers Baang and Jasper Logan. The venue will host a Tom Petty Tribute on Saturday night.
It appears as though TheatreSquared has another hit with their new show “It Came From Outer Space.” We’ve heard the new show is super fun. Here’s ticket info for that.
There’s more below. Go Hogs!
