It’s Friday again, and you know what that means right? You know. Don’t play.
It’s Homecoming weekend at the UA, and that would theoretically mean there is going to be a parade Friday night on Dickson Street and a pep rally at the Greek Theatre after that, but there are some storms in the forecast, so, we’ll see.
George’s will kick off their weekend with a happy hour show by frequent visitors The Bel Airs. Later on, local blues outfit Ozark Riviera will perform, and on Saturday night, Israeli EDM producer, DJ, singer-songwriter and rapper Borgore will perform. Tickets to George’s shows are here.
There’s a big rock show at Smoke & Barrel on Saturday night with the return of Joplin-based band, Me Like Bees. The band will be celebrating the release of a new album as well.
There aren’t many chances to enjoy the Fayetteville Roots HQ on the square since venue officials announced plans to close at the end of the year, but you can check out a sweet songwriter on Saturday night in the intimate downtown space with Dar Williams. Here’s ticket info and more.
JJ’s Live has a few big shows this weekend as well, including a celebration of Taylor Swift’s 1984 on Friday night, and a country show on Saturday night with Cole Swindell, Ashley Cooke, and Dylan Marlowe on Saturday night. Here’s a ticket link.
The Hog Football team is in action on Saturday, when they’ll take on the Liberty Flames at Razorback Stadium. It’s a 3 p.m. kickoff.
It’s the last chance to see TheatreSquared’s latest hit, Detroit ’67. The show is in the final weekend of its run this weekend. Here’s ticket info.
There’s a big local arts and crafts show happening at the fairgrounds on Sunday. It’s called NWA Makers’ Market, organized by the folks behind NWA Makers’ Club. Here’s some more info.
