Police investigate stabbing death outside Fayetteville home

1611 E. Thornhill Drive (Fayetteville Police Department)

Fayetteville police are investigating what appears to be the city’s first homicide in 2023.

Police said a woman was found stabbed to death in the street in front of her home on Thornhill Drive Sunday night.

Police were called to the home at 9:28 p.m. in reference to a domestic disturbance, according to a public release. Officers arrived four minutes later and found the woman “with multiple stab wounds deceased in the road way.”

The suspect, who police said is married to the victim and lives with her in the home, was transported by officers to a local medical facility with non life-threatening injuries.

Police said the initial investigation leads detectives to believe the homicide was an isolated incident.

The names of both the victim and suspect have not been released.

The Police Department investigated three homicides in 2022, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.
