A couple rock-and-rollers are coming to Fayetteville as part of an effort to perform in 50 states in 49 days this fall.

Rockers Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter are seeking to set a new world record for the fastest time to play concerts in all 50 states this fall, and that journey will bring them to Walton Arts Center on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

The tour will begin with performances in Maryland and Pennsylvania in August, followed by a whirlwind tour set to wrap up in California in September.

Allman and Frankenreiter are hoping to best Adam Brodsky, who currently holds the record set in 2003 when he performed in 50 states in 50 days.

“I’ve had this idea in my back pocket for the better part of a decade,” Allman said. “50 shows in the 50 United States in 50 days. I think growing up reading the World Record books, it’s just always been a fantasy to go after one. This undertaking is going to be really difficult, but very rewarding, and I really found the perfect co-conspirator in Donovan Frankenreiter. We have been jamming together for years now and are quite simpatico. He is the perfect Evel to my Kneivel.”

Tickets to the Fayetteville performance range from $29-$49, and are on sale now at waltonartscenter.org.
