Check out ‘Loop,’ a new interactive exhibit now open at Scott Family Amazum

The Scott Family Amazeum could not be more excited about Loop, which premiered at our UnGala Fundraiser presented by Nabholz Construction, and to announce that this exhibit will be FREE and open to the public in the Amazeum’s parking lot beginning April 21 through May 11, from 8:00 am- 10:00 pm.

Loop is an interactive work that plays short flipbook-style movies inspired by Quebec literature. At the center of each giant wheel is a music box to provide accompaniment for the hand-drawn animations. The work is inspired by the zoetrope, an optical toy invented in the 19th century. It can be operated by one or two people pulling a lever to make the images move!

We are happy to share this hands-on experience at no cost, with our community. We think this exhibit is very special as Zoetropes are often created in our 3M Tinkering Hub throughout the year. Families create their own animated films using tools they can find at home. This activity, as well as many others in our 3M Tinkering Hub, allows for families to get creative and tinker using skills they learn from the Amazeum.

Loop, by EKUMEN, a co-production of Quartier des spectacles Partnership and Ekumen, distributed by QDSinternational.
