Pride-related events coming up in Fayetteville

The NWA Pride Parade and Festival are coming up June 24, and last week we wrote about some of NWA Equality’s planned events to celebrate pride month.As it happens, there are several other Pride-related events also coming up in Fayetteville in the coming weeks.Here’s a quick round up of some of those that we’ve heard about so far.

Drag Me to Brunch at JJ’s Live

JJ’s Live will host an event called ‘Drag Me to Brunch on Saturday, June 10.The event will include a brunch buffet hosted by local drag queen Roxie Starrlite, and performances by Brooklyn Bisette, O’Shea Reed, and Lady Kakes alongside DJ Zero Cool.Doors open at 10:30 a.m., and the performances begin at noon.For tickets or more info, visit jjslive.com.

Umami’s Supper Club at Mount Sequoyah Center

Mount Sequoyah Center will host an event called Umami’s Supper Club at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 15.The event will include a family-style Laos dinner with cocktails and a drag show put together by Umami Origami.Tickets are $150 and include the meal and show.For more information, including tickets and the menu for the event, visit the event website.

Rainbow of Wines tasting and Pride Brunch at Bordinos

Bordinos Restaurant & Wine Bar has a couple pride-related events coming up.The restaurant will host a Rainbow of Wines tasting event on June 15, followed by a Pride Brunch on Saturday, June 24.The wine tasting on the 15th will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 with a $10 deposit and $30 due the day of the event. NWA Pride Teddy Bear Competition at Kingfish

Kingfish will host their 4th annual NWA Pride Teddy Bear competition at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 24.The event is organized by the Hillbilly Harlots and Kingfish, and organizers are seeking participants.For a bit more info, check out the Facebook page.

Pride Drag Show featuring Detox at C4 Lounge

C4 Lounge will host a drag show on Friday, June 16 featuring Detox, a contestant on Season 5 RuPaul’s Drag Race & Season 2 All Stars.The event will also include performances by locals Taylor Madison Monroe, Ella Rosa, and others.Tickets are $20-$40, available here.

OUTrageously OUTloud House Party at Pryor Center

Local artist collective Art Ventures will host an event called Outrageously Outloud at 6 p.m. on June 23.The event is a “celebration of LGBTQIA+ art, music, and community” that will take place at the Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History.The show will include the OUTrageous Exhibition and a 3D interactive art installation by artist Dandy Pants, along with music by Taiga, Oh Losha, XOLO, and SusieQ.Check out the Facebook event for more.

Generations Exhibitions and ‘Authentic’ film premier at Fenix Arts

Local art collective and gallery Fenix Arts is hosting a show featuring work by LGBTQIA + artists this month, and are planning a film screening as well.The art show is called Generations Exhibitions, and will run through June 28 at the gallery. Here’s a bit more about that. The gallery will also host a film screening of the film “Authentic” at 7:30 p.m. on June 17. According to the Facebook event announcing the screening, the film is a horror film produced and directed in Northwest Arkansas last summer 2022 with an almost completely LGBTQIA+ cast and crew. Here’s more info

Light Up Dance Party

Maxine’s Tap Room will host their annual Light Up Dance Party on Friday, June 23 beginning at around 8 p.m.The event will include a playlist by Kiera Maserati, and 10% of sales from the weekend will benefit NWA Equality.
