City officials this week announced plans to begin a nearly two-month enhancement project on Dickson Street between North College Avenue and North School Avenue.

Starting June 13, crews will focus on repairing or replacing sidewalks, curbs, brick pavers, and other streetscape features. Asphalt pavement overlay and new striping is also part of the plan, including the addition of a striped bike lane from College to East Avenue.

Crews will begin work at the intersection of Dickson and School, then move east toward College. The milling and overlay operations will be conducted on a block-by-block basis until the work is completed, according to a news release.

To accommodate the NWA Pride Parade on June 24, officials said the work plan has been adjusted to mill shorter sections before repaving to ensure a smoother and more even pavement surface for those participating in the parade.

The work is scheduled for completion by the end of July, weather permitting.
