Opera in the Ozarks kicks off summer season June 23

It’s time for some more Opera in the Ozarks.

The summer festival and opera training program is set to kick off their summer season of performances at their facility in Eureka Springs, and will also be bringing a cabaret show to Fayetteville this summer.

The season kicks off on Friday, June 23 with a performance of Elixir of Love, a comedy by Gaetano Donizetti at Inspiration Point, Opera in the Ozarks’ mountainside venue at 16311 Hwy. 62 West, five miles west of Eureka Springs.

Other shows in this year’s repertoire at include Copland’s The Tender Land, and Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld.

The three main stage performances will play on a rotating basis throughout the season, with evening performances at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. A full schedule of upcoming dates is below.

In addition to the main stage performances, Opera in the Ozarks will host a Broadway Cabaret event in Fayetteville at 7 p.m. on July 13 at Mount Sequoyah, as well as more than a dozen performances of Cinderella, this year’s children’s outreach production, at venues throughout the Northwest Arkansas region.

Tickets to mainstage opera performances range from $25 to $30, and discounts are available for children and students. Tickets for the Fayetteville cabaret performance are $50 (heavy hors d’oeuvres included).
