Summer weekends are typically a little slower than normal in Fayetteville, but that’s not the case this weekend. Far from it.
There is a massive amount of music, community events, performances, and more happening around the region this weekend. Better get to it.
The Gulley Park Concert Series continues on Thursday with a performance by Nik Parr & Lovers. It’s free to attend. Bring your own blanket, beverages, dog, etc.
Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit just released a new album, and they’re in Fayetteville for a show at JJ’s Live on Thursday night. Here’s ticket info.
Happening all weekend is the new show at TheatreSquared, a musical called Violet with performances all weekend.
The Bentonville Film Fest is in full swing, and will be taking place at various venues up north with film screenings, panel discussions, and other festivities. Details are here.
On Friday night, Dawn Cate Band will kick off the weekend with a happy hour performance at George’s Majestic Lounge.
There’s a rock show on Friday night at Smoke & Barrel with TV Preacher, The Salesman, and Chrono Wizard.
C4 Lounge will host a dance party on Friday night with Detox, known as one of the contestants on Ru Paul’s Drag race. Here’s more about that.
Juneteenth is on Monday, and for the second straight year, there’s a big celebration happening in Downtown Springdale on Saturday, June 17. It’s called Freedom Fest, and kicks off around 1 p.m. with music, food, a kid zone, and more. Performers include Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Ohio Players, Yung Joc, Lisa Knowles & The Brown Singers, and Funk Factory. Here’s more info. Also, it’s free.
Also on Saturday, you could check out The Avett Brothers who are in town for a show at The Walmart AMP.
There’s a cool show at Smoke & Barrel on Saturday night as well, with Sad Palomino and Adam Faucett taking their stage.
Another cool show is set for Sunday at Smoke & Barrel with touring act The Good Looks set to perform along with locals Meadow Makers.
