It’s another busy weekend in and around Fayetteville.
The fun starts on Thursday with a performance by local progressive bluegrass band Arkansauce, who will play a free show at Gulley Park Concert Series. Music starts at 7 p.m.
We’ll know more soon about where Arkansas basketball starts Anthony Black and Nick Smith Jr. will play professionally as the NBA Draft is set for Thursday. JJ’s Live is hosting a draft watch party with members of the Razorbacks men’s team that’s also open to the public. Here’s more about that.
There’s more free music on Friday in the Ramble with the city’s new Weekend Starts performance series. Friday’s show features locals Asher Perkins and Shannon Green.
It’s NWA Pride weekend in Fayetteville as well, and events will kick off on Friday with the NWA Trans March down Dickson Street at 7 p.m., followed by a festival. Also on Friday night, Maxine’s Tap Room will host their annual Light Up Dance Party, with proceeds from the event benefiting NWA Equality.
The NWA Pride Festival kicks off at 11 a.m. in downtown Fayetteville on Saturday with music, drag shows and more on the main stage in the West Avenue lot as well as in the Youth Zone at the Fayetteville Town Center. The annual Pride Parade will make its way down Dickson Street beginning at 5 p.m. Here’s more about the festivities including a full schedule of performances.
Speaking of performances, TheatreSquared is once again hosting their annual Arkansas New Play Festival, and there are several staged readings of new works scheduled for this week. Here’s more about that. And here’s even more.
How about a rodeo? There’s one happening in Springdale with the annual Rodeo of the Ozarks roping and riding through town this weekend. Here’s more info.
Music-wise, George’s has Bill Dollar and Loose Change for happy hour on Friday followed by The Nace Brothers later on. They’ll host an NWA Pride afterparty called Gliitterville on Saturday, and on Sunday Patti Steel, Vine Brothers and Dance Monkey Dance will perform.
Smoke & Barrel has music this weekend as well with Daisychain and Mildenhall on Thursday, and Bootleg Royale, Olympics, and The Earslips on Saturday.
There’s a cool show at the Fayetteville Public Library on Sunday as well with Modeling playing the Mountain Street Stage at 2 p.m.
Up north, Matchbox 20 is back in town for a show at the Walmart AMP on Friday night.
