Chamber Music on the Mountain returns July 17-29

A multi-day, multi-venue classical music festival is coming to Fayetteville this month.

The third annual Chamber Music on the Mountain Festival is set for July 17-29 at various locations around Northwest Arkansas.

The event will kick off with a chamber music jam called Musical Chairs on Monday, July 17 at Millar Lodge at Mount Sequoyah Center. After that, performances are scheduled at various venues including Fayetteville Public Library, Ozark Mountain Smokehouse, Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, and others.

A full schedule of performances is below.

This year’s festival will celebrate Mount Sequoyah’s 100th year of programming, officials said, and will feature chamber music by Arkansas composers, music influenced by folk traditions, and music from the 1920s.

Feature artists include Andrew Baker, oboe; Richard Bobo, bassoon; Grace Clark, viola; Charlotte Crosmer, violin; Lenora Green-Turner, soprano; Katelyn Halbert, horn; Meredith Hicks, violin; Tomoko Kashiwagi, piano; Tim MacDuff, viola; Kristy Olefsky, piano; Michael Puryear, cello; Kristen Salinas, flute; Pecos Singer, cello; Trevor Stewart, clarinet; Daniel Velasco, flute; and Yoshio Yamashita, percussion.

Tickets to the festival are $100 for adults and $60 for children for the five ticketed events on the schedule. Tickets to individual events are also available for $25 for adults and $15 for children. To purchase, visit chambermusiconthemountain.org.
