Who’s about sick of weekdays around here? If you said “This guy” and pointed at yourself just now with both your thumbs, this post is for you. It’s the dang weekend, buddies.
There are several big shows in and around Fayetteville this weekend, starting with three at the Walmart AMP. Country star Eric Church will play a sold out show on Thursday night, and you can hear Skynyrd play some Skynryd on Friday night (with ZZ Top), before closing out the weekend with a performance by Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin on Sunday.
Back in Fayetteville, George’s has local party band Jukeboxx on Friday night, followed by their 18th annual Jerry Garcia birthday bash on Saturday with a tribute by Forgotten Space & Friends of the Phamily. Here’s more about that.
A couple of Tulsa’s most talented musicians are in town for a show at Smoke & Barrel Tavern on Friday night with Jesse Aycock and Paul Benjamin set to perform. Benjamin is also set to play at Crystal Bridges on Saturday as part of their Forest Concert Series with fellow Tulsa artists, Pilgrim at a show they are calling “New Tulsa Night.”
Mount Sequoyah Center’s Chamber Music on the Mountain continues with multiple performances set for this weekend, including a set by local composer Amos Cochran at Mount Sequoyah on Friday night, and the final show of the series set for Saturday with Musical Celebration of Community.
There’s a rockshow at Nomad’s Trailside on Friday night with locals Ted Hammig and the Campaign along with Tom Andes and Kary Middleton.
There are a couple car related events at Drake Field this weekend, with AutoX NWA on Saturday and Drift NWA on Sunday.
There’s a cool-sounding event at the UA Museum (2471 N Hatch Ave, Fayetteville AR) on Saturday called Family Night at the Museum. There will be an exhibit featuring “meteorites and dinosaurs to ancient Roman coins and first computers” and more, and several partners will be on hand including Arkansas Air and Military Museum, Arkansas Archeological Survey, Washington County Historical Society, Scott Family Amazeum, UARK Isely Baerg Entomology Club, and more.
