A section of the city’s trail system will close this week while crews work to replace an aging stretch of asphalt with a concrete surface.

City officials said beginning Monday, Aug. 21, a 400-foot section of Frisco Trail will close between Meadow Street and Spring Street for about two weeks.

The trail section is part of the Razorback Greenway, which extends south through Fay Jones Woods as part of The Ramble.

Trail traffic will be directed to West Avenue during construction, according to a news release.

Matt Mihalevich, the city’s active transportation manager, said during the temporary detour, the southbound lane of West Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic and dedicated to trail users with barriers for protection.
