Tenacious D singer actually does own a home in Fayetteville, it appears

It looks like Kyle Gass actually does own a home in Fayetteville.

The Tenacious D singer this week told the crowd at the Walmart AMP that he bought a house in town, and may retire here someday.

Of course, Kyle is also known to quit the band on stage from time to time, among other shenanigans. He also famously claimed to have been the youngest guitar graduate of The Juilliard School for music at the age of 13 in 1973 before later admitting he made that up as a joke.

For good reason, many audience members took the comments with a grain or two of salt as potentially another bit as part of the band’s stage show.

It turns out, however, he may not have just been blowing smoke.

According to Washington County property records, a Kyle Gass with an address in Beverly Hills, California did in fact purchase a home in east Fayetteville 2019. The home was purchased for $277,500, and was placed into the Kyle Richard Gass living trust in 2021.

To be clear, he doesn’t currently live there.

Gass has been performing as half of the comedy musical group Tenacious D alongside friend and fellow actor and musician Jack Black since the late 1990s. He has also appeared in a number of television and music projects over the years.

The band is currently wrapping up the brief tour that brought them to the Walmart AMP earlier this week with a couple shows left on the calendar.

Maybe we’ll start seeing Kyle around Fayetteville sometime after that?
