A new temporary art installation featuring 50 artistic scarecrows created by local artists, schools, community groups, and more is now on display at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.

The exhibit, called Scarecrow Showdown, will be on display through Oct. 31 on the Botanical Garden grounds.

Visitors to the garden this month also have an opportunity to vote for their favorite scarecrow, and the creators can earn prizes in a variety of categories including amateur, professional, business, and others. The most creative scarecrow will also receive a prize.

Locals can check out the scarecrows during the Botanical Gardens regular hours for no additional fee (other than the regular cost of admission).

They will also be on display during the BGO’s ‘Sip & Stroll’ nights through the rest of the month. During those events, which take place from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesdays, visitors can visit the garden for 1/2 price admission, while they sip on themed beverages. The final Sip & Stroll event is set for Halloween Night, where costumes will be encouraged. Here’s more information on the upcoming Sip & Stroll events.
