Centennial Park trails to close Nov. 4-5 for Arkansas NICA races

Two trails at Centennial Park will close for two days for a series of planned races.

The CX World Cup trail and Learner’s Permit trail will both close on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4-5 (rescheduled), according to Alison Jumper, the city’s director of parks, natural resources and cultural affairs.

The closure is needed so the Arkansas National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) can hold its fourth and final race of the season, which includes six weekends across the state.

Arkansas NICA was formed in 2016 to provide a fun, safe and high-quality mountain biking program for students in grades 6-12, according to the association’s website.
