UA record label Hill Records releases new EP

Album art for new Rain Check EP, a new album released by student run record label, Hill Records

A record label operated by University of Arkansas students released a new EP this month.

The UA’s Hill Records, which began releasing music last year, released a new 4-song album titled Rain Check on Nov. 10.

Artists featured on the EP include Malibu Moon, Drew Hutson Rogers, Gawain Engholm, and Mary Margaret Langford.

The tracks selected for the EP share a common thread, according to the Hill Records site.

From the description:

The EP, aptly titled “Rain Check,” reflects the missed opportunities and postponed dreams that led to these incredible compositions. Each track tells a unique story of resilience and artistic ambition, and the EP serves as a testament to the determination and creative spirit of its featured artists.

Students at the University of Arkansas run most aspects of the label, with facilitation by local musician and UA professor Jake Hertzog.

The idea, Hertzog told us last year, is to give students hands-on experience in the music business while making connections in the region and preparing for a variety of careers in the entertainment industry.

The new EP is available on most streaming platforms. You can give it a listen via the Spotify embed below.
