The Fayetteville Police Department and local non-profit partners are set to give away 250 bikes to local kids this weekend.

The department, in association with local cycling organizations Pedal it Forward will give away the bikes from 3-5 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Donald W. Reynolds Boys & Girls Club. Youth cycling organization Buddy Pegs will also be on hand to help kids learn how to ride.

It’s the 4th annual bike give giveaway event organized by the department, and is set to be the largest one yet. Last year, 100 bikes were donated as part of the program.

The bikes will be available on a first-come, first served basis.

The parking lot for the event will open at 2:30 p.m. Organizers are asking attendees not to show up before then.
