10th annual Nog Off set for Dec. 11

It’s time once again to find out who’s noggy or nice (or both) in Fayetteville.

The 10th annual Nog Off egg nog making championship is coming up on Monday, Dec. 11 at Maxine’s Tap Room.

This year’s event features some of the city’s most talented nog makers and nog crafters, including the hosts Maxine’s Tap Room, along with Pinpoint, Mojo’s Pints & Pies, Leverett Lounge, Cheers at the OPO, Infusion, Vault, Erin Penewell, and Trey Fincher.

Here’s how it works. Attendees can stop by for a flight of the 8 egg nogs created by the local establishments above, and will be given a ballot. After that, they’ll taste the delicious creations and cast their vote for their favorites.

Flights cost $18, and proceeds from the event benefit the Maxine’s Legacy Fund, the newly established legacy endowment created in honor of the late entrepreneur and proprietor of Maxine’s, Maxine Miller. Here’s more about the new fund established last year, who is nearing its endowment.

For those who’d like to support the cause but can’t nog it up next week, you can donate online here.

The event begins at around 6 p.m. on Monday.
