Frozen Toes 5K and 15K trail runs set for Jan. 20

Bundle up, trail runners. The annual Frozen Toes 5K and 15K trail runs are coming up.

This year’s events, organized by the city’s Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs department, is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at Kessler Mountain Regional Park.

The soft-surface trail run is intended to offer an option for runners looking to transition from a 5K or a 10K to a longer distance, or for those who’d like to try their first trail running race.

Both distance categories take place on the technical single-track trails on Kessler Mountain, which offering great views of the woods and scenic mountain.

Registration is $30-$35 with youth discounts, and includes socks, a finisher’s medal, hot soup and a beverage. Awards will be given for the top three overall finishers and the top three age group finishers.
