A new restaurant offering Latin American cuisine will open soon in Fayetteville.

The restaurant, called Calle Latin Cuisine, is in the works at 33 N. Block Ave., in the building formerly home to Flying Possum Leather, and more recently Distinctive Dwelling.

According to their Instagram account, the restaurant will offer “traditional dishes from Latin America with a modern twist.” The menu on their website includes some delicious-sounding main dishes featuring short ribs, braised pork shank, duck, fish, and other items.

The restaurant has been in development since at least the summer of 2021, and is a project by locals Fredi Valle and Fernando Castillo, who are also behind Chuzos food truck at the Yacht Club.

It looks like extensive renovations have taken place on the space. A patio area overlooking the street is in place on the north side of the building. Signs for the restaurant went up recently as well.

We reached out to the owners, who told us that if all goes well, they’ll be up and running “by the end of this month or next.”
