FAYETTEVILLE — Tuesday’s City Council meeting has been postponed until Thursday, Jan. 18 due to the winter weather conditions, according to a news release.

City offices will also be closed Tuesday.

As usual, the meeting will be live-streamed on the city’s YouTube channel for those wanting to watch live. Those who’d like to speak during public comment can register on Zoom.

A winter storm that swept across the region Sunday brought several inches of snow and dangerously cold temperatures.

Fayetteville Public Schools officials cancelled classes for Tuesday, and the University of Arkansas postponed its first day of classes until Wednesday.

Schools were already closed Monday because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

A wind chill advisory is in effect until noon Tuesday as forecasters are calling for wind chills as low as -13 through the evening.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 38, according to the National Weather Service.
