The snow is melting, the roads are fine, and if you are like us, some of y’all are probably ready to shake off some stir craziness and get out of house this weekend after several snow days in a row this week. Let’s do it.
George’s is kicking off their weekend with a happy hour show featuring local classic rockers, The Uncrowned Kings. Later on, there’s a drum/bass show with producer, Shlump to close things out on Friday night. On Saturday, local indie/Americana act Ozark Riviera will perform.
Speaking of tunes, Smoke & Barrel also has a couple big shows this weekend. There’s a metal show on Saturday night with locals Dirtmother, Ghost Hollow, and Little Rockers, Mammoth Caravan. On Sunday, Gar Hole Records acts Jude Brothers and Jess Harp will perform together.
JJ’s Live has a big this weekend with Breaking Benjamin playing an acoustic set at the venue on Saturday night. Hopefully you already got tickets to this one, or know someone with the band that can get you on the list. because it’s completely sold out.
SoNA has a show on Saturday night as well. The symphony orchestra will perform a show titled The Great Unknown featuring performances of William Dawson’s Negro Folk Symphony, Samuel Barber’s Symphony No. 1, and George Gershwin’s An American In Paris. Here’s more info.
The opening reception for a new fiber arts show called Hanging by a Thread is happening on this Friday night at Fenix Arts after being rescheduled due to the weather last week. Here’s more on that.
If you feel like freezing your toes off, you could do so at the city’s annual Frozen Toes 5k and 15k runs happening at Kessler Mountain early on Saturday morning. More on that is here.
Also in sports, the Razorback men’s basketball team will take on South Carolina on Saturday at noon at Bud Walton Arena.
