Fayetteville Public Schools superintendent John Mulford will host another meet and greet event next month.

Mulford is set to meet the public for a conversation and Q&A session at another installment of his ‘Java with John’ series of events on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Arsaga’s Mill District.

The new superintendent, who took over the job earlier this year after John Colbert retired earlier last summer, will be on hand to talk with parents and other attendees and give a few remarks. Mulford came to the district after serving as as the deputy superintendent of operations for Springfield (Missouri) Public Schools.

Mulford has been hosting the ‘Java with John’ events regularly since he took the job.

A hot topic of discussion at the February event will likely be redistricting. Mulford presented several scenarios for new elementary school attendance zone boundaries and other solutions at the Fayetteville School Board meeting last month in the districts ongoing effort to solve overcrowding at McNair Middle School in east Fayetteville. Mulford also received authorization last month to explore the possibility of adding a new middle school to the district.

Java with John will begin at 8 a.m., and will run until about 9:30 a.m. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

The event is hosted by Arsaga’s and the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce.
