That’s about enough week for this week. Let’s have a weekend instead.
George’s will kick theirs off with a birthday bash for longtime local musician, Gary Hutchison for happy hour. After that, the late night show on Friday night features a performance by a Fayetteville band that’s blown up over the least year. Rock band Sawyer Hill, whose music has been streamed over 1 million times in the last year on Spotify, is in town for a show at the venue. They’ll be joined by Modeling and Ted Hammig and the Campaign.
Also in music, there’s a pretty good lineup at Frost Fest, the annual winter beer festival organized by the folks at Fossil Cove on Saturday. Performances this year will come from Sad Palomino, stepmom, and Bonnie Montgomery. In addition to the music, there will be brews by more than 50 local and regional breweries to sample. If any tickets are still available for the event, here’s where to get them.
Speaking of Frost Fest, the official after party for this year’s festival is at George’s on Saturday night featuring music by Frost Fest veterans, The Phlegms and Vintage Pistol. Tickets are here.
If you’re looking for a dance party, your best bet might be Dacefestopia: Yellow Brick Road Tour happening at West & Watson on Friday night. Here’s more info about that.
How about a show? Walton Arts Center will host a family show on Friday night with American Girl Live. On Saturday, they’ve partnered with Fayetteville Film Festival for an evening of films by BIPOC filmmakers. Ticket info for WAC shows is here.
Also in performances, TheatreSquared will continue the run of their brand new show, What the Constitution Means to Me. Tickets.
Up north, The Grove Comedy Club has a weekend of performances by comedian David Koechner (The Office, Anchorman). From the looks of the website, the entire weekend is sold out.
Also in Benton County, rapper Talib Kweli and New Orleans funk/soul/hip hop ensemble The Soul Rebels are set to perform together at The Rode House inside The Momentary on Friday night. Tickets are here.
There’s more below. Have a great weekend, everyone!
