FAYETTEVILLE — The city will host four spring bulky waste cleanup events in March, April and May in 2024.

The free events, which take place both in the spring and fall, are designed to give residents a way to dispose of bulky items that are too large to fit into a regular trash bin.

The first event of the year is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Shaver Foods, 1367 S. Beechwood Ave. On the same day, residents can bring bulky items to the city’s Recycling & Trash Collection Facility at 1560 S. Happy Hollow Road.

Residents should bring a copy of a recent water bill to verify their Fayetteville residency.

There are limitations on what can be accepted at the cleanups.

Household hazardous waste (HHW) materials will not be accepted at the spring events. Those items, however, can be dropped off at the HHW Drop-off Trailer on South Happy Hollow Road and 15th Street each Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Electronic waste will be accepted on all four dates, but only at the Recycling and Trash Collection facility.

Detailed information on what is accepted can be found on the city’s website.
