FAYETTEVILLE — Police are investigating a shooting near Lake Fayetteville that left one man dead and multiple people injured late Thursday night, according to a social media post from the department.

Police said officers were dispatched to an area near the Lake Fayetteville Environmental Study Center at 599 E. Lakeview Dr. just before 11:15 p.m. on Thursday.
Once on the scene, officers found a deceased man in the area. Multiple people were also brought to area medical facilities with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said it appears to be an isolated incident and that the general public is not believed to be in any danger.
The investigation is ongoing.
