The University of Arkansas this weekend will host its annual festival that celebrates the role and artistry of women in music.

The SHE: Festival of Women in Music is a three-day event that features performances, lectures and classes in conjunction with Women’s History Month.

Held at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center on the UA campus in Fayetteville, the event kicks off at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1 with a performance by the UA’s own Schola Cantorum and University Symphony Orchestra, featuring guest artist and composer Catherine McMichael.

Other scheduled performers include Dara Starr Tucker and Tomáshirih Motazedian.

Workshops and masterclasses for students and music professionals are also planned, as well as an exhibit hall for women-owned and led companies.
