Reminder: Bulky waste cleanups begin this weekend in Fayetteville

(Flyer Photo)

Don’t forget to gather up those bigger items that are too large to fit into your regular trash bin this week.

The city’s first spring bulky waste cleanup event is set for 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at Shaver Foods (1367 S. Beechwood Ave.) and the Fayetteville Recycling & Trash Collection Facility (1560 S. Happy Hollow Road).

Residents should bring a copy of a recent water bill to verify their Fayetteville residency.

There are limitations on what can be accepted at the cleanups.

Household hazardous waste (HHW) materials will not be accepted at the spring events. Those items, however, can be dropped off at the HHW Drop-off Trailer on South Happy Hollow Road and 15th Street each Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Electronic waste will be accepted on all four dates, but only at the Recycling and Trash Collection facility.

Detailed information on what is accepted can be found on the city’s website.
