A major celestial event is coming up next month, and the local botanical garden is hosting a watch party.

Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will host an Eclipse Party from noon until 3 p.m. on Monday, April 8 to watch the solar eclipse as it happens that afternoon.

Fayetteville is not in the path of totality for the eclipse, however, it will be visible at 98.5% here in town. It is the last total solar eclipse that will be visible in the contiguous United States until 20244.

BGO has partnered with Experience Fayetteville to distribute viewing glasses and reusable water bottles to the first 500 attendees at the watch party event.

Gates for the viewing party open at noon, and the eclipse is set to begin at 12:33 p.m. It will reach its max at 1:51 p.m.

The event is free to attend and open to the public, with no registration required. For more info, visit bgozarks.com.
