Summer reading club kickoff set for June 1 at Fayetteville Public Library

It’s almost time for one of the biggest parties of the year at Fayetteville Public Library.

The library will celebrate the beginning of its summer reading club with the annual kickoff party from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.

This year’s event will include a host of family-friendly activities, including bounce houses, Greedy Goats of NWA, face painting, Lego and insect displays, Preschool Play, snacks, and more set up mostly on the library’s new Gathering Glade on the west side of the campus.

In addition, there will be performances by Inspyral Circus to close out the day from 1-2 p.m. in the events center.

Other activities include an appearance by the Fayetteville Fire Department, face painting, airbrush tattoos, a photo booth, story time, and more.

The theme for this year’s event is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”

The library will also be enrolling for the annual summer reading program, which encourages children, teens and adults to keep reading during the summer months.
