A third generation jeweler from Fayetteville has been named to a national 20 under 40 list.

Troy Underwood, Vice President of Underwoods Fine Jewelers in Fayetteville, was selected to the Jewelers of America’s 20 Under 40 in Jewelry Retail list by a panel of judges in the jewelry industry.

The list was created in 2022 to honor young professionals who “demonstrate leadership skills and a commitment to advancing jewelry retail for future generations,” officials said.

“Jewelers of America’s 20 Under 40 in Jewelry Retail list was designed to recognize young and talented individuals in all facets of the retail jewelry industry. Troy possesses all the qualities and leadership skills that will help to pave the way for a brighter future and the next generation of jewelry industry professionals,” says Jewelers of America President & CEO David Bonaparte.

Underwood graduated form the University of Alabama with a double major in Finance and Marketing. After working in Saint Louis in heavy machinery sales for three years, he attended Gemological Institute of America Carlsbad, where he earned his Graduate Gemologist, counter sketching, and bench titles. He worked for two years for Lee Michaels flagship store in Baton Rouge before returning to Fayetteville to work for the family business at Underwoods.
