NWA Pride Parade, Pride Festival, Trans March set for June 28-30

The 20th annual NWA Pride Parade, festival, and Trans March will take place the weekend of June 28-30 in Fayetteville this year.

The weekend will kick off with the Trans March and festival beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday on the Fayetteville Square. The march will begin on Block Avenue near Dickson Street and will make its way to the square. A rally will begin after the march, and the festival will follow.

The NWA Pride festival will begin at 11 a.m. in the lot behind Yeehawg this year due to the construction taking place in the upper ramble area. The festival will include vendors, a main stage, and other festivities. The full lineup for the mainstage has yet to be announced, but officials did announce that New Orleans rapper Big Freddia will headline the event.

The youth zone this year will be open inside Fayetteville Town Center from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

This year’s annual Pride Parade will begin at 5 p.m., and will make its down Dickson Street toward Arkansas Avenue. Organizers said the annual event has grown to include more than 35,000 participants and spectators in recent years. Images from last year’s events can be found here.

More NWA Pride festivities including the Glitterville Party at George’s on Saturday night, the High Tea Pool Party at Mount Sequoyah Center on Sunday, and others to be announced.

More details and lineups for this years event will be announced in the coming weeks, officials said.
