Single Parent Scholarship Fund fall application deadline set for June 15

The deadline to apply for scholarship funding from the fall from Single Parent Scholarship Fund of NWA is fast approaching.

The local organization that awards financial assistance to single parents pursuing higher education in NWA is requesting applications for the fall to be turned in by June 15, 2024.

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Is a single parent (a family with children under the age of 18 and/or a severely disabled adult child over 18, headed by a parent who is widowed or divorced and not remarried, or by a parent who has never married and is caring for the children without assistance of another parenting partner in the home.)
  • Resident of Benton, Carroll, Madison, or Washington County
  • A legal United States resident or a resident with DACA status
  • Has a high school diploma or GED
  • Has low to moderate income, typically not more than 250% of federal poverty guidelines 
  • Enrolled in or plans to enroll in a program of study at an approved institution 
  • Has completed or is in the process of completing the FAFSA (as applicable*)
  • Maintains a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0*

Up to $2500 of funding is available is available, depending on the degree program.
