Seems like we’ve had about enough weekdays to last us for a while around here, don’t you all think? Let’s have a weekend for a change.
If you are checking in on Thursday, there might still be time to make it down to Gulley Park to see singer Andrew Igokidi from The Voice play a free show on the gazebo stage as part of the summer concert series.
George’s will kick off their weekend with a happy hour show on Friday featuring local classic rockers, The Hard Tops. After that, things will get even funkier with locals 1 Oz. Jig and Tulsa-based brass band, King Cabbage. On Sunday, George’s will host New Orleans brother band, Crowe Boys (who are moderately TikTok famous) and Nashville folk act, Hello Darling.
Also in tunes, there is a rock show at Nomad’s Trailside on Friday night featuring Austin-based “bootgaze” band Cortége, along with locals Stash Hag and Dirtmother.
There is a big music and Pride fashion event happening in Springdale on Saturday night. It’s called Fashion Fit for (a) Queen, and will include a fashion show by locals from Big Sister Studio, and music by Austin-based Queen tribute, Magnifico. Here’s more about the show.
There are a couple other Pride-related events happening around town as well, including a happy hour event at Prairie Street Live on Friday night, and a Pride Pub Crawl on Dickson Street on Saturday.
Also up in Springdale this weekend, there’s a home brew and craft beer event called The Great Southern Beer Festival taking place in Turnbow Park downtown. Here’s more about that.
A little further north, some great local bands are playing at Railyard Park on Saturday night, where Modeling, Mildenhall, and Resting are set to perform.
On Saturday morning, the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market is always a good idea.
If you’re looking for a show, you could check out TheatreSquared’s latest show, Responders, and there are also a couple chances to see some staged readings of new plays at the Arkansas New Play Festival.
There’s more below. Have all the fun, everyone.
