Arkansas coach John Calipari buys Fayetteville home at Blessings

It looks like Arkansas head basketball coach John Calipari has found a home.

The Razorbacks’ new head Hog this month purchased a house in the Clear Creek neighborhood for $2.2 million, according to property records. The gated community at Blessings Golf Club is located about 5.5 miles north of the University of Arkansas campus.

The 7,350-square-foot home has five bedrooms and includes views of the 10th and 11th golf club fairways. It was built in 2006 and later remodeled by Goddard Design Group.

County records show the home was previously owned by T&B White Family Trust. Mary Bassett with Bassett Mix & Associates in Fayetteville was the listing agent.

Calipari is the second Arkansas coach of the three major men’s teams to help break the trend of purchasing a home in the upscale neighborhood at Bridgewater Estates where current coaches Dave Van Horn and Sam Pittman live, and where former coaches Chad Morris, Bret Bielema, Bobby Petrino, Mike Anderson and John Pelphrey all resided.

Former basketball coach Eric Musselman was the first in many years to break the mold when he purchased a home in Clear Creek. The University of Southern California hired Musselman as the Trojans’ new head coach in April. Musselman’s former home, which is currently on the market for $3.25 million, is just around the corner from Calipari’s new house.

Calipari’s former home in Lexington was listed for $3.99 million in May, just weeks after news spread of Arkansas’ splash hire of the former Wildcats leader as the Razorbacks’ 14th basketball coach.
