Let’s play a drinking game, except instead of adult beverages, let’s just do water, and every time you see the letter ‘e” in this post, take a sip. In other words, it’s gonna be hot out there, y’all. Stay hydrateeeeeeeed.
It’s Pride Weekend in Fayetteville and there are several related events happening Friday through Sunday. The events kick off with the Trans March at 7 p.m. on Friday night, followed by a rally at 7:30 p.m. and a festival at 8 p.m.
The annual NWA Pride Festival happens on Saturday starting at 11 a.m., and the Pride Parade is at 5 p.m. Kingfish is hosting their annual Teddy Bear contest at 2 p.m. There are a few after parties, including the Light Up Dance Party at Maxine’s, the official Glitterville party at George’s, House of Untz at Kingfish, and an event called FreeQueency at West End featuring DJ sets and a meet and greet with Big Freedia. Here’s the full schedule of events for this weekend including maps, street closures, etc.
There’s a fun show at George’s on Thursday night featuring local bands Idle Valley, Memphis-based band Joybomb, and Little Rock band, Ultra. George’s has a country show on Friday night with local classic country tribute, Gone Country.
Another cool local show is happening at Smoke & Barrel on Friday night, with a three band bill including locals The Big Sad and Drew Hutson Rogers and Memphis band, Daykisser.
It’s our last chance to see Responders, TheatreSquared’s new summer show that has been playing the last few weeks.
How about a rodeo? One of the biggest and longest running around is happening in Springdale with the annual Rodeo of the Ozarks in Springdale.
A little bit further north, there’s a rock show at the Walmart AMP on Friday night featuring Modest Mouse, the Pixies, and Cat Power on Friday night.
Also in Rogers, the Railyard Park will host local 90s tribute The Mixtapes on Friday night, and family-friendly favorites Trout Fishing in America on Saturday.
There’s more below. Have a great weekend, everyone. Maybe take one more big gulp of water?
