Headliners exhibit now showing at Anne Kittrell Gallery

An artist reception will be held this week for local photographer Scott Flanagin, and his current exhibit “Headliners” now showing at the Anne Kittrell Art Gallery in the Student Union of the University of Arkansas.

Headliners is a collection of Flanagin’s photos taken at concerts at the UA over the past few years. He has worked as the Director of Communications for Student Affairs, allowing him prime access to the performers.

“For me, it’s about being in that sweet spot between the stage and the audience,” Flanagin said. “There’s so much energy right there. That’s something I feel at every show and I attempt to portray that in my photography.”

The show, which opened on Monday and will run through Feb. 12, features photos from concerts by the Foo Fighters, The Roots, John Mayer, and TI. It’s Flanagin’s first gallery show.

“I’ve always wanted to have a gallery show. Photography was on of my first loves, and remains to be so to this day,” he said. “I’ve always loved shooting (the concerts).”

The reception is Thursday, Jan. 14 from 5 to 7 pm and is free to attend.

The Anne Kittrell Gallery is open Monday-Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
