There’s hardly enough powder on the ground for the kids to play in today, but we’re pretty sure they’ll find something to do on the first snow day of 2011.
The same can’t be said for rest of the state as some areas received as much as 8 inches of snow.
The current weather.com forecast calls for a 50 percent chance of snow in the Fayetteville area beginning at 5 p.m.
Closings and cancellations
Besides Fayetteville Public Schools being closed for Monday, here are a few other things we’ve noticed:
- The women’s Razorback basketball team is stuck in Starkville, Miss. and has canceled its monthly luncheon scheduled for today.
- All Ramay and Woodland Jr. High basketball games scheduled for tonight have been canceled.
- The Animal Services Advisory Board meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. inside Fayetteville City Hall is canceled.
- Governor Beebe has closed a majority of state operations today, but the Arkansas General Assembly will still convene in Little Rock at noon.
Leave a comment if you know of any more closings.
