
Update: KFSM and NWAOnline are reporting the victim was identified as 83-year-old James Richard Bean. Battalion Chief Mauro Campos told KFSM that the fire was determined to be accidental.
Fayetteville fire officials are investigating the cause of an early morning fire that killed an elderly man on Kantz Lane Saturday.
The man’s name has not yet been released.
This is the first fatal fire in Fayetteville since a March 7 incident at the Flying Possum Leather which claimed the life of longtime Dickson Street business owner Bruce Walker.
