Local Notes
The Flyer got a mention from The Next Web today. We made the list of “10 inspiring accounts to follow on Instagram” alongside ABC World News, Jamie Oliver and Snoop Dogg. You know, the usual bunch. (The Next Web)
Speaking of celebrities, Jeff Nichols’ new film “MUD” began shooting yesterday in Dumas, Arkansas prompting several celebrity sightings. “MUD” stars include Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, and Michael Shannon (Take Shelter, Boardwalk Empire), among others. Couple this cast with the acclaim his last film received and it won’t be long before Nichols himself is considered a star. For those keeping count, that’s two Arkansas native Nichols brothers working their way to fame. Jeff’s brother Ben fronts Memphis-based band Lucero. (Deadline)

Thursday To-do
With Bikes, Blues & BBQ beginning tomorrow, tonight is your last chance to hit the town without sharing your preferred venue with a bunch of bikers.
That being said, the calendar choices for the evening is pretty slim.
If nothing on tonight’s list floats your boat, head to Dickson Street and see what Bikes, Blues & BBQ looks like without all the bikes. Who knows, maybe you can score a funnel cake a day early.
Good luck.
