News Briefs

FHS quarterback Austin Allen

The folks at Wakarusa are looking for a few new bands for the festival lineup this summer, and one of them will be chosen here in Fayetteville next month.

Fayetteville High School senior Austin Allen has been named the 2012-13 Gatorade Arkansas Football Player of the Year. He is only the second player to be chosen from Fayetteville High School, and the first since Brady Washburn won the award in 1997.

Speaking of football, Arkansas junior running back Knile Davis will enter the 2013 NFL draft, according to a message posted to his Twitter account Wednesday.

We’re giving away two pairs of tickets to the Sunday, Dec. 30 performance of TheatreSquared’s “Period of Adjustment.” To enter, tell us what you want old Santa Claus to bring Fayetteville for Christmas.
