Locals plan rally in support of marriage equality

Members of the Northwest Arkansas Center for Equality are planning a rally in Fayetteville this week in support of same-sex marriage equality rights.

The rally is one of several planned around the nation today in advance of two U.S. Supreme Court cases on the issue set to be heard March 26-27.

“Now more than ever, it’s important for people who support the freedom to marry to come together and show their support,” said James Rector, President for the NWA Center for Equality. “We’ll be coming out to raise our voices and send a clear signal that the nation is ready for marriage equality – the time is now.”

The rally will take place from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at the corner of Dickson Street and College Avenue.
