Fayetteville could have two new Jimmy John’s sandwich shops by the end of the year.
Site plans were recently submitted to city planners for a new Jimmy John’s location at 1777 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. next to Dunkin’ Donuts. The company is also listed as a planned tenant at the Whole Foods-anchored shopping center being built on College Avenue in north Fayetteville.

Plans for the MLK Boulevard location show a 2,876-square-foot building with room for two businesses – one restaurant and another separate tenant. City planners are expected to discuss the project later this week.
The north Fayetteville location is part of the College Marketplace development, a shopping center set to include a Whole Foods grocery store and a mix of restaurants and retail stores. Other restaurants include Zoes Kitchen and Chipotle. Site plans also show a fourth, unclaimed 2,300-square-foot restaurant space with room for a drive-thru window.
Other tenants will include Fayetteville Pilates & Barre, Great Clips, and college apparel retailer Alumni Hall. Negotiations are underway for another 4,500-square-foot retail space just south of the main Whole Foods building, and at least two smaller shops in a third building closer to College Avenue.
Construction of the new shopping center is still on target for a fall 2015 opening date, according to the developer’s website.
Jimmy John’s currently operates one location in Fayetteville at 518 W. Dickson Street.
