Thousands of people waited in line Sunday for a chance to slide down Dickson Street on a 1,000-foot-long slip-and-slide as part of Slide the City’s tour across the country.
A portion of the proceeds benefitted Soldier On Service Dogs, a local non-profit that trains service dogs to help veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.
The slide was open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday. Prices were $30 for a single slide, $45 for a triple slide, and $65 for unlimited slides. Triple and unlimited slide passes included free tubes and other assorted gifts.
