Want to see some promising brand new plays before they’ve ever hit the stage? The Arkansas New Play Festival continues this weekend, and will feature staged readings of some great new works before love audiences on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Nadine Baum Studios. Here’s more info about the festival.
There’s a food festival just up the road in Rogers. Bite NW Arkansas, featuring cuisine from local chefs all over the region, is set for 6 p.m. at the Walmart AMP. The event is part of the festivities around this year’s NW Arkansas Championship LPGA golf tourney happening in Rogers this week.
There’s some really good music to check out in town as well. Tulsa-based afro-beat band Count Tutu are at Smoke & Barrel, locals 1 oz. Jig are together again for a show at George’s, and central Arkansas band The Whole Famn Damily are at The Lightbulb Club.
